Westinghouse Electric
Westinghouse Electric Company LLC designs pressurized water reactors, supplies nuclear fuel, and provides plant services. It leads in Generation III+ technology with the AP1000 design.
Established in 1886, Westinghouse pioneered commercial PWRs and delivered over 60% of the world's nuclear plants. The AP1000 features passive safety systems, with four units operational or under construction at Vogtle Plant Units 3 and 4 in Georgia, each at 1,117 MWe. It is developing the 300 MWe AP300 SMR for factory fabrication. Owned by Brookfield Business Partners since 2023, it supports global fuel cycles including HALEU qualification.
Why it matters now
Westinghouse drives 2025-2026 nuclear growth through AP1000 completions, AP300 NRC pre-application, and fuel services for data center PPAs amid SMR licensing and HALEU supply constraints.
