Reactors

The Korea Multi-purpose Research Reactor (KMRR) is a planned facility in South Korea, to be operated by the Korea Atomic Energy Research Institute (KAERI). Intended as a replacement for the aging HANARO reactor, it will focus on medical isotope production and materials testing for civilian purposes.

Shin Hanul Unit 5 is planned for the Shin Hanul Nuclear Power Plant site in Uljin, South Korea. This APR1400 reactor, with a net capacity of 1400 MWe, represents part of South Korea's strategy to expand clean energy production. As a planned unit, it has not yet entered construction or operation.

Shin Hanul Unit 6 is also planned for the Shin Hanul Nuclear Power Plant site in Uljin, South Korea. Like Unit 5, it is an APR1400 reactor with a net capacity of 1400 MWe, aimed at supporting South Korea's energy security and carbon reduction goals.
