Aurora
Aurora is Oklo's 15 MWe sodium-cooled fast reactor microreactor using HALEU metallic fuel in a compact, factory-built design.
The Aurora design features a fast neutron spectrum with liquid sodium coolant and aims for 10+ year refueling cycles. It supports remote siting for off-grid applications. Oklo submitted a pre-application to NRC in 2020 and plans fuel manufacturing qualification by 2027.
Why it matters now
Aurora targets data center PPAs amid AI-driven power demand, with Oklo securing agreements for 2027 deployment. HALEU supply bottlenecks and NRC licensing progress are key 2025-2026 hurdles.
